TORLON SOLUTION
Challenge: A major aircraft manufacturer had a family of parts that were failing in the field. There were 7 components and 13 parts per assembly. They had aircrafts down that couldn’t be used, costing them a lot of money.
Solution: We rapidly redesigned and manufactured each part to meet the thin-wall tolerances, including machining front-wall tolerances of .001 thousands and a 5” deep cup with a .002 thousands tolerance.
Result: Solved the problem and delivered required parts within weeks. We quickly transitioned into continuous production parts, eliminating the failing components. For our quick response to their emergency requirements, we were awarded with their Small Business Supplier of the Year Award.
